Eat your way thru May!

Sticky Toffee Pudding!
The name says it all. What it doesn't say is "made with dates".
After having it on our anniversary date night and then seeing it on my cyber-friend's blog, we decided to try our hand at it on our actual anniversary. And gosh and by jolly it was good! It was delicious. It was rich. It was sticky! Emily even ate half of one. Then she asked "what is in this?", her famous last words! Then she stopped eating it.
After 18 months of not loving my Blackberry, Kerry and I took the leap to the iphone. I felt bad for him and his new, but very old, basic cell phone with no bells and whistles. Now he's in this century and loving it. And yes, that's 92 emails I have.
I took the boys out to an area that I wanted to check out for future photo shoots. They were fairly accommodating.
He's not as easy to command with the camera as Sally is but she doesn't want to go out as much as she used to.

For Mother's Day, I got to pick dinner, and the kids and Kerry made it. After hearing my co-worker rant about currywurst, bratwurst with a ketchup curry sauce, I decided that's what we'd have. And crispy fries with garlic aioli! I made the sauces.
We went with two types of brats, I liked the Thuringia, but just about everyone else liked the Guinness ones.

I used all my curry, and got to the point where I couldn't even taste it anymore. The sauce went over so well, makes me want to make different flavoured ketchup for other things.
Allergy season is knocking Emily out this year. She's sneezy, dopey, grumpy, just 3 of the 7 dwarves, but that's 3 too many.
Kerry took the following pictures for Mother's Day. I'm pretty pleased with them, and the fact I have pictures of me, where I'm not eating, closing my eyes, or showing my muffin top off.

I had a photoshoot this weekend, out in a part of town I'd never been to, took me over 20 minutes to get there and the view was amazing. Unfortunately, I can't share the sweet baby photos.
I have 2 shoots tomorrow and I'll be showing those for sure! It's getting busy and I'm learning everyday!

Still Got It

Emily needed help with her Socials project so her friend came over and the 3 of us put together an "antique" journal documenting a farmer's life after he moved from France to Canada. I made the journal, and her friend gave her ideas, and Emily wrote letters and drew some sketches. Everything was antiqued. "We" got 20/20!
Our 17th anniversary is this week. With the help of Heather and her free night at the Eldorado that she won at a hockey game but couldn't use, I managed to plan a surprise overnight trip for Kerry. We never do surprises. I emailed him to pack an over night bag and to be ready to go Friday after work. He had no idea where we were going, but was pretty happy with where we ended up.
We're pretty sure mom made the duvet cover and pillow shams. We went to the Wild Apple Grill for dinner, we had amazing service! Hung out in the hot tub, sauna, and pool before going back to our room and falling asleep watching re-runs.
We had breakfast at the Eldorado.
Creme Brule French Toast for him.
 Omelette for me.
 The view from the restaurant.
The next day we had Emily's tea party themed birthday party. She liked it so much last year that she wanted to do it again this year.
I can't believe she's old enough to drive!
I know they hate it, but I'm pretty happy that I made them pose for a group shot. I also printed one for each girl and framed it as a going home gift.
